Currently, there are about nine server machines:
Public
is an Dual Xeon 3.2GHz system running
FreeBSD and is available
for remote login by users. It is intended as a general-purpose
compute server for use by remote users or when Room 2128 is closed.
Www
is a Pentium II/450MHz system running
FreeBSD,
on which the Web server for the lab runs.
It is not available for login, but it will execute CGI scripts
for users and it has access to user filesystems.
To view the Web server logs, log in to
public
and go to directory /wwwlogs.
bfs1 is an AMD K6-2
running FreeBSD.
This machine is the main binary file server for the client
workstations.
It is not available for users to log in.
bfs2 is an Intel AMD K6-2
running FreeBSD.
Currently, this machine runs the mail server,
as well as some binary file service to the client workstations.
It is not available for users to log in.
/home/a,
/home/b,
/home/c,
/home/d,
/home/e,
/home/f,
/home/g,
/home/h.
Users' home directories are located on these volumes.
